“Lake Superior’s north shore offers so much to a painter. The sculptural rock, endowed with an infinite range of color, shape and texture, descends into the water in a myriad if slopes and angles.  The water itself is limitless in its range of light and color. Calmly lapping, its glistening surface reflects the sun and sky while also allowing our vision to pierce through, revealing the large rocks nestled beneath the surface. The point at which the water touches the shore has always been of interest to me:  it is where two worlds meet, the frontier to each.”
