Tonja Sell

Tonja Sell was born in rural Northern Wisconsin.  She studied at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and also Arizona State University.  “I was creating something all the time as a child, my parents gave me opportunity to explore.  That is something I am grateful for.”

Tonja’s work includes drawing, painting, ceramic, metal sculpture, glass blowing, and fusing textiles. Not only does her work incorporate a wide range of media, she uses many subjects as well.  Landscapes, natural themes, and the female form are all things that inspire her.  “I appreciate work that draws me into someone’s experience.  A point of time, a moment that I can become a part of.”
